UF D.E.E.R. Lab
I am a member of the UF D.E.E.R. lab. As the acronym dictates, we study disturbance ecology and ecological restoration, often through a game species lens. The principal investigator of our lab, Dr. Marcus A. Lashley, is a scientific naturalist in the mold of his academic lineage, originating with Aldo Leopold. Today, my lab mates and I continue this tradition through a variety of avenues. We can each offer different mentoring and outreach opportunities.
Adrienne Dykstra (@EcoAddi) is a Ph.D. student modeling feral hog population dynamics.
Brandon McDonald (@Brando_McDonald) is an M.S. student studying the ecological role of Key Largo woodrats and how black rats influence that role.
Emma Zeitler is an M.S. student focusing on post-fire plant regeneration from resprouting plants and secondary seed dispersal by dung beetles.
Kelsey Demeny is an M.S. student studying oak masting and deer behavior.
Laura Franklin is a PhD. student exploring deer survival and hunting pressures
